XXV Winter Olympic Games
Casa Italia Milan Cortina 2026
MUSA
MUSA is the main theme of Casa Italia Milan Cortina 2026, a place where athletes
and the general public can mix at its venues in Milan, Cortina and Livigno.
Milan, 7th February 2026 – CONI, the Italian National Olympic Committee, will have its own welcoming space and privileged access point to the very best the country has to offer at Casa Italia, which will be hosted at the Olympic venues of Milan, Livigno and Cortina d'Ampezzo during the XXV Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games being held from 6th-22nd February, 2026.
The exhibition layout in the Triennale Milano is arranged into nine sections, each dedicated to the muse inspiring a particular discipline: language, architecture, visual arts, landscape, taste, music, theatre, innovation, and sport. Each muse is represented by an iconic Olympic artefact from the Olympic Museum located in Lausanne, Switzerland, emphasizing how these ideals are shared and promoted by the Olympic Movement. Some of the memorabilia from the Olympic Museum collections are part of Italian Olympic history, such as the skis worn by Marco Albarello and Stefania Belmondo’s gloves from Albertville (1992), Manuela Di Centa’s ski boots and suit and Deborah Compagnoni’s ski suit from Lillehammer (1994), Armin Zoeggeler's suit from Sochi (2014), and the gloves and suit worn by Federica Brignone in PyeongChang (2018) and Beijing (2022). Matteo Attruia's neon work entitled Welcome greets visitors at the entrance to the layout, celebrating hospitality and welcome, distinctive traits of Casa Italia ever since it was first established (Los Angeles, 1984). A suspended sculpture by Brian Hunt Re in the corridor symbolises how Muses can breathe life into creativity and provide the inspiration required for extraordinary achievements.
Finally, Claudio Abate's photographic portraits pays tribute to all the international artists whose works have been displayed over the years: Marina Abramović, Joseph Beuys, Joan Jonas, Gilbert & George, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean Tinguely, and Robert Smithson through Italy.
