Erik Saglia group show "Il faro dell'arte contemporanea"

Castello San Giorgio, LERICI, ITALY
From the heart of the Gulf of Poets, in the evocative setting of the San Giorgio Castle in Lerici, The Lighthouse of Contemporary Art – Lighthouse Contemporary 2025 comes to life: an exhibition project specifically conceived for the Castle’s spaces, designed to serve as a compass to navigate the new routes—like cardinal points—of contemporary art. The exhibition, promoted by Wizard Gallery and curated by Chiara Guidi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Lerici and the support of SanLorenzo, aims to provide the public with a set of coordinates—after identifying the key directions of various artistic trends—to ensure a conscious, cross-disciplinary, and international vision of the most current artistic languages.
The project unfolds as a journey developed as a single large-scale installation, extending across the various rooms and three levels of the Castle. The very choice of the term “lighthouse” is closely tied to both the physical and symbolic nature of the location: perceived as a beacon, the San Giorgio Castle rises imposingly on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, dominating the horizon.
A stronghold among the waves, a point of reference and orientation, the lighthouse-castle thus becomes a destination and a guide for visitors—not just a mere container for an exhibition, but a truly “illuminating” landmark for the art world and its audience. Conceived in close dialogue with the architecture and history of the castle, The Lighthouse of Contemporary Art, through the various media and languages of the selected artists, aims to be a festival and an event of concrete orientation.

“Our Castle continues to establish itself as a key cultural hub, hosting high-level art and cultural events—such as this one, which brings together national and international names from the worlds of creativity and the avant-garde. Hosting initiatives like this places us center stage in the art world, which reveals itself within the 13th-century stone walls in a mutually enriching relationship. I thank Wizard, which, after last year’s collaboration, has once again chosen Lerici to showcase its artists. I warmly invite citizens and visitors alike to explore the exhibition and the Castle, and to be wonderfully amazed by their beauty,” said the Mayor of Lerici, Leonardo Paoletti.

The exhibition will open on June 7th at 6:00 PM and will feature works by the following artists:
