Artista: Andrea Kvas | Ron Gorchov, Lynda Benglis, galleria d'arte bergamo

Andrea Kvas (1986) lives and works in Milan. Andrea Kvas’ work combines a playful and instinctive approach to painting with an analysis and a reconsideration of this bailiwick. His painting research requires multiple patterns of fruition which led him to find many intersections with sculptural, relational and curatorial practices. In his works he uses a wide variety of industrial materials used in construction, decoration and restoration, such as acrylic colors, water-based paint, resins, copper sulphate, shellac, latex, silicone. In this way, Kvas tests the limits and potential of the pictorial language, through an apparently involuntary abstraction, in which particular chemical compounds cause unexpected interactions. In 2014 he curates the first group exhibition Dopapine at San Giovanni Valdarno. Kvas’ solo shows include: Coppiette, Gelateria Sogni di Ghiaccio, Bologna, 2020; Staring Contest, ErmesErmes, Vienna, 2015; Boy with bucket, Chert, Berlin, 2013; Campo, Marino Marini Museum, Florence, 2012. He has also exhibited in several group exhibitions, such as: # 80 # 90, Villa Medici, Rome, 2019; SUperHost, Like a little disaster + PaneProject, Polignano, 2019; Supervulcanos, Tarsia, Naples, 2019; That's IT !, MAMbo, Bologna, 2018.

Kvas has also took part in several special projects: Project Room # 3, Archivio Atelier Pharaildis Van den Broeck, Milan, 2019; The fright of the earth, Clima Gallery, Milan, 2018; Green Woodpecker and Dopapine, Masaccio House, San Giovanni Valdarno, 2014; Laboratorio, MACRO, Rome, 2011, Laboratorio, Brown Project Space, 2010.
